Our Mission

Advocate. Gather. Educate.

For over four decades we have endeavored to advocate, publish, program events and promote the integral role of Mary Bulmer Brickell in the birth story of Miami.

01

Advocacy

Our mission is first and foremost to advocate for Mary Bulmer Brickell as a mother of Miami and the Brickell Family in general to be more recognized as a key element to the founding of the city of Miami. We shall also endeavor to support and promote the mantra to “find your Mary” which is to say find the truth in other marginalized figures in history.

02

Community

We bring history directly to our community by hosting a future annual history festival in Mary’s name at the historic Mary Brickell Park, creating a lasting legacy of civic engagement.

03

Education

Through the promotion of the Orange Blossom 2.0 book, The Mary Brickell Foundation will endeavor to educate young and old alike through outreach programs, tours, lectures, promotion and or corrections in the press, and publishing future books on Mary’s remarkable life.

Our Impact
